Silhouette portrait workshop, Saturday 24 October 2015, Elphin Room, St Michaels Church (above the Church Hall) 10-1 and 1.30-4.30.
Make your own Victorian silhouette portrait with Simon Warner. Simon will open a window onto a forgotten world of pre-photographic portraiture, recreating the Victorian skill of traditional hand-cut head and shoulder silhouette. Using a 1770’s style silhouette chair and pantograph, Simon will show you how to create a beautiful miniature silhouette image of a friend or family member to take away with you. All ages. Children should be accompanied by an adult. (Posing for a silhouette requires sitting still while the tracing is made, which may be hard for younger children)
